View Full Version : Slightly different Freeport issue.

I see a few threads talking about crashing while zoning in/out of Freeport, but that's not the problem I'm having. Instead, anywhere between 30 seconds to maybe 5 minutes of movement in or around freeport causes me to abruptly reboot. No error messages, no nice crashing to desktop or anything, just an immediate system reboot.

I made a different character and ran around Gfay/Kelethin with no issue, and my wife hasn't had a problem in either area with an exact copy of my install.

No issues with any other games or anything, just this, and the fact that it's rebooting instead of just crashing has me somewhat lost.

Athlon XP 2400+, single core, 2 gigs ddr ram

Sapphire x1650 Pro video card, Catalyst 10.2 drivers

WinXP Pro SP3.

No sign of overheating, and no sign of similar issue in any other areas so far, nor any other much more intensive games. Everything else runs fine.

The client is not making your computer reboot. It's most likely setting off a glitch in your OS or a flaw in your hardware that is causing a hard reset.

Configure your computer to display an error to the screen instead of automatically rebooting in this case. You can also try analyzing the crash dump using the Windows debugging tools provided by Microsoft.

I'm not familiar with how you do that. :<

edit: but 5 seconds later of continuing to look myself I see I was staring at the checkbox for that already, heh.
