Hello, Im new here and since the server try to be like in 1999 i just wanted to mention something i noticed.

In 1999, when we were dying, we were always back with a new set of starting food and water. Until level .... i dont really remimber but i think it was 10.

When we were looting our corpse, there was no starting food and water on it since we came back from death with a new stack. I dont think the number was 5 of each, i have feeling it was 10 ... but it was 11 year ago :/

Of course in 1999, the time on corpse before they disapear wasnt days... it was something like 30 minutes for noobs. But well, i think everyone appreciate it like that hehe.

So maybe you already knew this, maybe not. Continue your nices works :)

I didnt visit everything, but i find the pathing in CB very nice. Mobs dont run through wall and if i sent my pet attack a mob other side of wall he dont rush the wall ... he run to go other side like it supposed to be. Congrats on nice pathing work ... all server dont have this kind of details coded.

Edit: Oh a question, do we have acces to the database? I mean to check if mobs have correct loot table or not. Cannot report a loot bug if we dont know if the mob drop it or not.

Oddly enough... I vaguely remember something along the lines of the "fresh food" on a fresh corpse till 5 or something. I am 50/50 on that though...

In terms of the DB and having direct access to it... No :). However, one of the top threads has some info about source submissions if you wanted to take a look at the base eqemu code. Info for the base DB can be found within those links.

I'm pretty sure getting starting food/water back upon death was a velious/kunark thing, but to be honest few would complain if it were implemented.

We need evidence.

We need evidence.

Another convert!

Yes, this was implemented later.

History lesson:

On the emulator, all the newbie notes were wrong in the beginning; You got like iron rations & water, a latern and a backpack.

We've made several million changes to the DB however. The stock PEQ DB won't even come close and will be WILDLY inaccurate to here.

Nah, what come later is the what u said: bag, lantern etc. But that wasnt coming on you when u were dying.

It was not velious and kunark since i was already playing for a year when Kunark came up. I didnt look for proof about that, Its just something I remimber from 1999. But well, i dont really mind, its only for beginer. If nobody remimber it, too bad. They stoped to do that when they implanted the No corpse to loot until lev 10, if i remimber well.

Edit: a thing that i didnt do 11 year ago lol is read the manual that come with game (the blue one with the wonderfull blonde chick on cover) ... i still have it ... So about starting stuff ... Its really 5 food 5 water according to the picture in the book in the section where they talk about start. But they dont mention anything about what happening when you died, excep thing about consent etc etc. I will continu to investigate, :)

Oh snap, you're right, I'd forgotten that. Seems I have some research to do.

Oh yeah, I know tons of changes would have been made. I've mostly used it as a nice reference point to start or to understand the schema.

I cant wait, i played in apr/1999,loved it poped into the new world in Halas by the camp fire 2 guards and a composer on me :)No temp,no pok, no tutoreal,No idea :0 1 spell, a letter, a club and a candle :)Those were the days, use to take all day to venture a zone...other than food and water your next spell get that hide for your next peace of armor....Woot i just looted a crack staff :)

Is that an evidence ? hehe Im still looking to find somewhere talking about food and drink :)

I can certainly vouch for the candle that humans started with. I remember starting in Surefall glades, and not being able to find my way out from the entrance tunnels until I equipped the candle which game me a whole.... 2 feet of illumination.

To tell you the truth my friend had never made a barbarian, and I warned him about the deadly tunnels to blackburrow without some sort of light source, unfortunately, there were torches lining the walls that weren't originally there... I remember dying on corpse runs there because I couldnt tell if I was coming or going.
