Everytime I zone into west freeport it crashes once in a while, but north freeport it crashes every single time. The thing is, it's only happens on one character. "Delitia" (bard) level 11. every single time he zones into north freeport it crashes. I created an alt, in freeport and zoned in and out of west and north freeports for 30 minutes straight no crash. I go on "Delitia" and instant crash. (after 20 minutes of waiting i ctrl+alt+del, and it says everquest stopped responding) so I have no idea what the problem is. Help is greatly appreciated.

This happens to me as well, on both of my characters. As of now I am stuck with my character trying to zone into West Freeport. Tried three times now and crash every time. Usually I can get into West Freeport, but North Freeport crashes SO much. I have already sent in a request about it and get the run around. I don't know what is up, but it makes enjoying the game very difficult when one has to spend over an hour trying to zone.

Try deleting the files associated with that particular character, like the UI and macro files. There could be some problem there. It's the only thing I can think of if it's character-specific. If that's not it, try zoning without Selo's on or something, if that's what you normally do.

Having the same problem on my 30 lvl bard 4 years later. Did you ever find an answer to this problem?

Pretty obvious question, but have you tried re-installing?
If that doesn't work, it's clearly a problem either with the character itself, or one of the various personal files associated with that character, which means:
1) Locate all the files in your p99 directory with your characters name on them.
2) Create a new folder titled "bkupderubael' where derubael = your characters name
3) Move ALL those files into the backup folder. Be sure to check all the directories within your EQ directory. The best way to do this is to run a Windows search for your characters name on just your Everquest folder.
4) Run EQ.
I would also recommend that if you have Everquest installed into c:\program files\whatever OR c:\program files (x86)\whatever to instead re-install or move your EQ directory to C:\Everquest or something similar. Having EQ installed to program files causes many, many strange issues when you have UAC turned on (most people do, if you don't know what it is then its turned on).
Once you've tried all of these things, including a full re-install (do it again if you haven't done it recently, within the last month or two), you should delete that character and then make a new thread on the petition/exploit forum asking for that character to be restored. If you do this, again, make sure all the character files for that character are moved out of your EQ directory/deleted.

Only been playing for over a month so did not try re-install. Program file was/is installed in C:\P99\everquest folder.
Made backup copy of folder, moved all files, reinstalled into C:\P99\everquest. Did NOT copy char back, let system create them on sign in. No luck as of now going on 15 min's to zone into Freeport from EC's.
How long does it usually take for a "petition/exploit forum asking for that character to be restored." to take place so I can plan accordingly.
Crashed into both W Freeport and N Freeport. Did not crash in W Freeport on way out. Will say one improvemen,t before re-install use to lock me out for 30 min's did not happen this time.

Restoration usually takes 24-72 hours, but can potentially take up to a week.
