Destroy all items on the server, spawn Fippy Darkpaws all over EC instead of normal spawns. Kill for only loot left in game, rustys and cloth.

The solution... stop seeing it as a problem, play your own game and don't let it affect your levelling process.

The solution is simple really:
First you must reach a state of mental clarity and realize that the economy on a free shard does not actually exist. The line between reality and videogame seems to be clouded by the majority of you, and as such the weak personalities are now kings inside this false reality. If you invest the time into correcting what ever social deficiencies that haunt you, instead of hiding and eluding the world inside a video game, you will be free from the fake restraints you have placed upon yourself.
Once you reach this pinnacle of rational thought you will stop wasting your brain power on solutions to a problem that is not real.

I've got an idea - make it so any time someone puts on a Fungi tunic, that the regen effect costs plat!

For each tick of regen the player is charged.... let's say 2 plat. This money is first deducted from the cash on the character, and then from that character's bank until it's depleted - at which point the regen effect stops! In day's you'd reduce the plat on the server by hundreds of thousands! :)

Slot roulette - GMs randomly remove half the items you're wearing without notice and destroy them, and randomize the coin in your bank between 10% and 120% of what it was before.

Trade restrictions - Not allowed to trade more than Xpp per day or more than 3 items per character per day, effective immediately :p

Bank run - Each Norrathian banker will only perform X transactions per day (and once per account maximum).

In at the deep end - X items are removed from your inventory upon logging in. To get them back you must travel to Erud's Crossing and hail Monala (kerrans at docks). Once a day.

Lowest unique bidder auction - run by Lucky the Beggar in Highkeep. Items for sale 24/7 (perhaps the ones unclaimed/removed), once per 8 hours. Winner is the one who trades the lowest amount of coin that nobody else traded...as a bid.

Pet Time - Everyone forced to look after a young puma or shadow wolf for 24 hours. It must not die, it must be fed/watered/walked once per Norrathian day. Failure to look after it costs the owner 10% of what their bank balance was upon logging in.

Stay Alert - At a random interval during the day, a popup will appear on the screen and start to deduct X platinum from your bank per second until you click "OK".

Kill Frenzy - PvP tags enabled in EC at a random interval during the day. Players may kill one other player and loot 5% of their coin (naked traders obvious targets). Highest yield from one player is then stripped from the "winner" and redistributed evenly amongst however many other players are in the zone. 2nd place and onwards get to keep their ill gotten gains.

High Tide - If it rains for more than an hour in EC, the zone fills with water up to the top of the EC tunnel. Anyone who drowns loses 10% of their coin.

...you get the idea. Could be fun, in varying degrees :)

The solution in Everquest is clearly the same one that needs to be done in real life. I take economic advice from Regean -- we clearly need to make the top 1%, the job creators, of EQ wealthier so that those of us underneath can bathe in the golden -- errr, platinum shower.

The Solution is for every MMO to be wiped off the map forever so we can lead normal lives. I mean we have been at this for like 14 years??:eek:
