How exactly does guard assist work?

I was sitting in RV bank as I so often do, and Punkin was attacking me as she so often does. Dispelled her dots, then was nuked so ran to guards in front of bank. She got 2 more nukes off on me and the lame guards just stood around like they didn't care.

Did they patch in faction for the guard assist thing, or was this a bug? If the RV guards have abandoned me, I'm just certain I'll lose my entire savings to FoH :P

I just want to know if I can nuke around guards all of the time, or if they'll kill me. If it's true that only melee will cause guards to react, that seems pretty unfair lol.

My connection/computer makes me crash when zoning sometimes, but you'll never see me plug in earnest. And I could have easily gated, just had it in my mind that the guards would attack if I were nuked and was surprised when they didn't.

RV ever the hub of pvp activity, some people have more faith in the guards than others... see people sat outside the bank not moving, fake afk'ing etc a lot of the time.

I don't understand their indifference, Highkeep guards will attack you if you're casting on someone else so I don't see what Rivervale's problem is.

Maybe Sundawg PI needs to investigate the matter.
