Druid leveling advice - 52

Sorry to make all these leveling threads, it's been years since I've played EQ and I just don't remember where I leveled throughout my career. I was 52 and couldn't figure out where to go, now I'm 50 again and back at LOIO until I make my way back up to 52.

The bloodgill goblins really stopped giving decent exp at 52 and I have no idea where I should go once I make it back up there. Charming doesn't seem to be an option unless I can get my hands on the new charm, and I don't have any of the dropped 51+ spells yet. Can I quad raptors with just 154 mana? It was around 1700 mana I think, at 52.

As always, your advice is appreciated.

get 55 and charm to 60

The BW giants have a shit ton of hp. Are the spirocs still blue/lightblue at 52? If so, that's your best bet.

The bloodgill goblins were better at 51 because they had fewer HP and I spent less time medding, but you might be right about the birds at 52 because goblin exp REALLY slowed down then. Will do some experimenting once I make 52 again.

I forget where in the zone but there's an area in Trakanon's Teeth with a bunch of iksar ghosts going back and forth outside a building against the zone wall.

Not sure if they'd be light blue or not but it couldn't hurt to take a look with a quick EJ evac :p

You can quad the 3 Ice Giants in Everfrost if you have Iceberg charmed to finish them off after you do 50% damage to them. Use Beguile Animals.

Charming animals in the basement of permafrost is $$$. BW giants quad or TD raptor quad are also other options.

Right now at 52 the Bloodgills in LOIO should be going light blue. You should move on to raptors in TD at least until 54.

What is going to take you through your mid-50's to 60 is bear pits in Permafrost. You may have some problems there at your level. It is also tricky to get down to but highly rewarding for EXP (but not so much loot).

I'm 53 and nearing 54 now, and I still lack the mana to quad the TD raptors down. Been slowly and unsurely kiting the mostly light blue spirocs down, but I don't think they can take me beyond 54 and I'm once more unsure where to go. Is 54 too early for the bear pits? I don't even know how to get down there.

Are there any other spots you guys can think of? Right now my max mana is 1816.

Obviously thats not working for you. The only other choice is to make what you got better, buy or farm better gear, easier than it sounds too.

Have hooked Faerie up with 18 wis to help her mana pool in the past (2 rings, 2 earrings) and it all helps. I guess its a case of knowing what to camp and when.

The fun of red is that you can push others off a camp, there's no whining other than mad tells from the 'loser' - I know someone who griefs people at the AC, and has outdps'd the guy camping the AC which always ends in tears. That's the essence of the server though... I can see why people would want to stay away but it adds more depth to the game.

India's not really wrong about life being not so easy on red, anyway. So far today I've lost 10% of my level in pvp, gained 7% back and am now unable to retrieve my corpse in oot because there's a FoH druid waiting at the docks for me :P

When I was lvling Auvdar in the 50's I never really needed a huge mana pool to charm/kill things. The only thing a higher mana pool did was allow me to kill more. But in terms of just steady exp gain (if you don't mind the medding and slow killing), you don't need much. You are doing good if the bar is going to the right, and not the left..

Can't give you Red advice since I don't play in that hell hole, but in terms of money gain, druids can be very good at farming certain items. A 52+ druid can pummel Kedge for example. And a few good items drop there. Also porting (not sure how good port for donations is on red...). Working the EC trade (again, not sure on red since it has a low pop.)

But for the original question. Raptors are good charming spots. Aviaks also in TD. Once you get 54/55 you can start in the pits under Vox, but that is a tricky spot to get into. And, at least when I was there, the pathing up and down the ramp sucked.

But those were my two spots when Kunark got released on Blue. Raptors until about 54 ( I was lucky enough to be given a lumi staff + ES arms/gloves early on to help), then the pits under Voxs lair. (Also was lucky enough to have a Manastone + friends with C2 I could port to).

Also, being a high level druid is overrated. Once you get sup. healing... it's all downhill :\

Ugh.. well you can still quad them. Any safe exp is good exp I guess.

I'll try and think of some other spots. Kedge may still be a good place, if you are ok with the Z axis and underwater bit. (Even at 60 there are a ton of LB/Blue things in there.)

I tried quadding the raptors and I could only manage to get them to about 50% hp before I ran out of mana. Plus their agro range is ridiculous; makes things that much more difficult lol. Have been trying root rotting the seafuries, they're blue/light blue, but it's pretty well camped and locked down by some leveling Nihilum or FoH when I try to go so I die (3-4% exp loss, unrezzable) and then have to wait a few hours to get my corpse. My exp bar is not moving in the right direction at the moment, I spend every night getting 54 and the next day is spent pvping over camp rights which means I have to get back to 54 that night :P

To be honest, I know nothing about Kedge. Always avoided that zone because of how annoying water is in this game. Any advice for me? I can just see myself drowning when EB fades lol.

Well first it sounds like you need to farm some mid-gear items to get your mana pool up. At 50+ you should have zero problems getting to 200wis and quadding a set of raptors down.

Second, with Kedge the best thing you can do is go in and try it. Bind outside the zone (for emergency gates/deaths..) and learn the zone. You have a EB spell if you can't afford a EB item, and fish scales are on unlimited supply in EC (near the EC/WC zone, one of the huts there).

But honestly, even with low funds/PvP server it shouldn't be hard to get a mana pool good enough to quad a set of raptors down. You may have to sit/med during the last bit, but it is still doable. If you are only getting them to 50% before you go OOM, either you aren't quadding right or you really need to go gear yourself up.

Not to sound like a dick or anything, but only being able to get them to 50% before you run OOM is bad. Sit/Med during the entire quad (learn how to sit on ticks), pull them away from others since the LoS aggro is huge (levi + play in the ocean..), and get rid of the mana pool a lvl 35 druid would have..

Learning to charm in Kedge may be your best bet. Once you got it down, it doesn't take a ton of mana to do. (Most of the time you are sitting and medding anyway). Just keep gate/egress up (I prefer to just bind outside and gate) in case things go bad. I can't explain Kedge to much except just go in there and do it. You won't learn anything until you do. The underwater thing isn't that bad.
