Hi Hasbin! Miss you, man. Vent's missing a lot of laughs without you, Karsten and Crow. Hope life's treating you well.

The raid scene turned into IB and DA camping boss spawns constantly. They're both giant zerg guilds. Daydrem was offline for a while and Divinity became less of an influence. Transcendence declared themselves more casual. The RallyD crew is in DA now. Several DA members were recently banned. That Abacab guy likes to train people. The server has broken 800 online a few times. There is constant drama at pretty much every camp worth a damn in the game. You'd recognize maybe ten people who still play in IB. Most boss kills involve 40+ or even 50+ people. There will frequently be 40+ people from each guild staring at each other, waiting for a boss to spawn. Training and zone crashing have become increasingly popular. Most of the fun and funny people in IB quit and now we get yelled at and "talked to" a lot. I'm pretty sure GM-enforced rotation will be back by the end of the summer. Sky still hasn't opened.
Did I cover everything? In short, this server has become pathetic and you're not missing anything.

Oh come on, a lot of us are still having a ton of fun, we just don't play twelve hours a day. That ain't no way to have fun, son. Honestly, though, I don't know what people were thinking rushing to 50 on this server. You knew what would happen.
Anyway dudester, you sound really unhappy with your gaming circumstances. I don't really know you, other than what I've read here(crack addiction, d-i-v-o-r-c-e), but I'd change that, if I were you. If EQ brought me a modicum of the angst it does a lot of you folks I'd play something else. WoW or rochambeau or lawn darts or something.

The raid scene was really fun until the camping started. I wasn't writing for the general population--Hasbinbad was level 50 before I even started on this server. If you're still enjoying the server, more power to you. I still have fun helping low levels with my druid, but the raid scene is pretty much all bummer all the time.
I've never smoked crack in my life. I spend six months of every year completely clean--no alcohol, no pot, no prescription drugs, no over-the-counter medications, no caffeine, no white sugar, no white flour. I'm currently in that six months. I'll buy a bag and a couple bottles of champagne at Christmas time. I'm also married.
But of course you won't believe that. You'll believe that I'm divorced and addicted to crack even though the only source of that information is known liars and trolls. Years from now, if you recall anything, it will be that my wife left me because I was a crack addict who played EQ 18 hours a day. That's how the memory of normal humans works. That's how marketing works. That's how the Republican spin machine works. That's how Swiftboat Veterans for Truth worked. Rush in the lie, then when the truth comes out most people think the truth is the spin and the lie is the truth.

Uh, I was being facetious buddy. I know you don't smoke crack, because let's face it, you don't know any black guys. Was more or less just commenting on what I see as a disturbingly morose overtone to some of your recent posts.
And really, I just don't get the disillusionment. Did you folks not know that if you rushed to fifty months and months in advance of Kunark you'd end up with very little to do? Hell, I've never had a level-capped character in EQ, because they kept moving the fucking carrot, and I knew that if I sprinted to 50 I'd be bummed.

Sooooo.. Same old shit, just more people now eh?

Yeah, more people, so more conflict. I think it's really nice for more casual folks, though--lots of grouping in lots of zones at low level. But even in the mid to late thirties, there's a lot of competition for camps and lots of conflict. I think it's going to get really rough in the fall. Historically, I remember summer always being the low point for participation and then a big flood of new and returning players in the fall. If the developers can finish everything, it would be really good for them to release Kunark in September. I'm not sure if that's possible or not.

Uh, hi, guy I have no idea who you are. Hasbinbad was my guildy and I enjoyed playing with him a great deal. He came back and asked what was up and I gave him a straight answer.
Maybe you don't like straight answers. Maybe you love camping bosses. I have no idea--I don't know who you are and probably couldn't care less.
You want to hear me cry about something? I'm sunburned to fuck today and I have blisters on my toes and my heels. That little Asian motherfucker I paid $35 to fix my boots did a horseshit job that I could have done much better myself. I'm dehydrated and I slept like shit. Feel my pain, motherfuckers.
Oh, I forgot. The bands at the Alice concert were really mediocre but there were a lot of really hot women wearing almost nothing. I probably alienated my friend Camilla because I couldn't stop staring at the ass of this tall Asian chick who couldn't keep a beat but loved to shake it. Alright, this part isn't really crying. I'll try harder next time.
It's hard for me to complain much. I love life. Every day I run out of hours to do all the things I'd like to do. I love to play EverQuest. I love to quad! I love to go outside. I love food and cooking and people and books and movies and beaches and museums and libraries and music and dancing and playing guitar badly and singing so awfully you'd immediately tell me to stfu. And women. My god I love women so.
Now it's time for me to go outside and seize the motherfucking day. I'm going to listen to my iPod and feel incredibly grateful to be in this amazing place and just to be alive. And you know what? I hope your day is amazing too.

I actually saw a super hot guy at pride. He's a friend of my friend David's (David's a drag queen). Guys don't usually do much for me, but if he came on to me I'd almost certainly make an exception. He's one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen in my life. I'd also make an exception for David Bowie. Also Angel from Rent. Tonight I'm having dinner with my friend Kris, who's so androgynous it really doesn't even matter what sex she is unless you're trying to figure out how to bump uglies. I have one good friend who's a post-op T-girl.
In short, sexual orientation isn't one of my big hangups. Sure seems to bother a lot of the gamer crowd, though. That's too bad; if you guys would hook up with each other, you might get laid once in a while and not be so damned bitter all the time.
Did I mention that I love summer? Also apples. And blueberries. And sparkling water. Hell, sparkling anything.
Also, I'm even more sunburned now. I have two tubes of really good sunblock. Untouched. -1
