Why Should I Play Here

I started a chanter here, Eyol, a long time ago. Today I decided to log on and see what was going on. I am trying to decide whether or not I should make an effort to progress on this server. Why do you think I should play here and what advice do you have for me if I do.

if you enjoy classic eq with pvp, this server is the best one you are going to find, period.

best advice, dont forget that /ignore works, and dont forget you can turn off /ooc if it bothers you.

bonus advice - this server is a "FFA"/"Guild vs Guild" type server. so try to make friends of people you encounter, and join a guild when able.

There isn't a good reason we can give you. Since you are looking for one here you most likely don't have what it takes.

My advice is bring some friends with you because you might not run into anyone friendly for the first 30 levels.

I don't know if you've played EQ pvp before or not, but it certainly adds a level of depth to the game that you simply can't find on a blue server. More ways to interact with the community makes for more realism. You decide what kind of person you want to be here, and your reputation actually matters.

When banned players return, when you get trained or trak toothed or golem wanded by someone 8 levels higher, when /ooc is full of grown adults each claiming pvp victories with no YT...just throw your head back with a roar of laughter, as this laugh slows to a chuckle, smile to yourself knowingly. For you can quit tomorrow, whilst most here are unable.

Loz? 15 person population. Add in boxes and you can pvp against 5 other people. This is the only server that is legit with competition. Blue isnt competition, its more like who has no real life. Only thing with red is nihilum is so ahead of everybody. With azrael gaining strength with epics the server is gona even out alot more. If velious is released in 6 or so months and azrael stays strong I think velious will open this server up nicely.

Legacy of zek was fun but the admin went mia and people stopped playing. Amazing pvp 3 months straight. Red 99 more stable with a real admin staff.

yeah the pvp on LoZ was far better than it has been on red99 for a good while during that server's prime

because the exp rate didn't make me contemplate suicide, there wasn't dumb shit like trak teeth/gate pots/golem wands etc., yellow text, leaderboards, 2boxing, active devs

And they were making changes daily, in OOC and forum daily.

LoZ was far from being as polished as P99 but at least they were trying. P99 is just some big name brand that doesn't give a fck about its users like most big businesses tend to neglect once there is no other competition that forces you to stay competitive and make changes. Rogean is fat and and rich now which means we get stuck with a product that receives the bare minimum IF that in service and maintenance.

Don't get me wrong, P99 is the best and if you like PvP + classic EQ, this is the place to be. There are a few hurdles to get over such as twink grief, lots of soloing etc, but if you can deal with it, it's very rewarding.

I recommend getting a friend or several friends to come with you for maximum immersion. I hope you decide to play.

hundreds of people that play here and hundreds more come here every day just to keep up with the community. If someone is playing here that generally means that EQ is the best game they've ever played. They need more...

Some reworked 20x over Diablo 3 style absolute bomb? Who knows.

I won't be hyped by another MMO, but I will play EQ Next for the same reason I tried EQ 2 later after release. It's EQ, I wanna see what its all about for myself. Not to mention? Most MMOs that have PvP are great during the sprint on launch process. Always drama, lawls etc.

they got their initial investment back + profit and no longer care.

why i stopped trying new mmorpgs, and always end up back at eq classic. There simply will never be another good mmorpg pvp. everything is spoonfed, maps, no penalty on death.

im not saying the grind is good, but im saying the grind keeps away alot of the trash players so you only have the cream of the crop people willing to invest in there characters.

as far as fantasy goes, eq will always be my fav but there are mmos out there alot more harsh than eq with permadeath and such. in eve when you die you lose all the "gear" you had on you. this can amount up to 1000's of US dollars worth of stuff gone in a flash. pras eq but it isnt too harsh.

edit: isnt too harsh for people like me who came up playing this game, now i can see someone (not saying you but in general) whos first mmo was wow will think eq is hardcore to the max. not trying to take anything from eq, just throwing my opinion out there for someone to shit on.
