This is a very odd issue, that I haven't been able to find anything similar about. When I create a second character on my account, I can log in, and then after a few minutes the client will crash, with no error message indicating the reason for the crash. If I delete the second character, I can the play normally. Has anyone else encountered this or have any insight into it?

I don't know why this is happening, but you could create a new character on a new account.

This server allows trading / selling (for in game currency) of accounts.

It does require you to fully log out to change characters, but some day you may be glad you made the separate account.

OH, it just dawned on me why this is happening....

You are picking a non-classic race/class combination.

It appeared to lose my update. I encountered this with the following scenarios:
Dwarf Cleric then built Erudite Wizard
then
Erudite Wizard then built Erudite Magician

So all race class combinations were available in classic.

I will probably just create additional accounts for other characters, just would like to keep my number of accounts to a minimum.

This is appearing to just be overall instability with the client. Even when only having just one character on the account I have issues. Some times it will run fine for hours, and the others, like last night, it will crash every 5-10 minutes until I just get sick of it and don't log back on. It isn't giving any errors, just the window saying it appears your client has crashed, and asking if you would like to report it.

Need to reinstall for sure. Also, set compatibility to XP sp2 or lower.

After reinstalling manually perform the spell update and set your eqgame.exe up so that you may run eq without using the patcher.
What OS are you running by the way? Try to have as many background programs turned off as you can, including any widgets if you have any.

If you're still having problems crashing after that, please repost. I have some other ideas but i believe this will fix your issue.

Are you running the game as an administrator? I don't know if there's some weird stuff going on that's preventing the creation of character files in your EQ folder?
