I came across an old SK forum that stopped threads in 2002...i found out that apparently this shield was back slot usable in our time frame (post is from 08/01 and he says it was a year prior to this at least)...here's the link to the thread: http://thecrossroadstavern8833.yuku.com/reply/50493/Shield-Tactics#reply-50493 and a quote:
"Unless you got a CoF try getting a Ashenbone for Regular use and a Atrementous for your back ( It still fits on your back doesn't it? I remember about a year ago it did ) NE ways failing that do what everyone else says and Harmtouch me when you see me for being a waste of bandwidth."
Strange I can't find patch notes indicating they changed it to secondary only. I wonder if he's confused with lodi shield? He doesn't seem to confident in that post

yeah it was a good find for me, i never played a SK so i dont have a clue, maybe it was one of those things that only SK's knew about - do you have a list of all the patch notes?

Trust me, I know. I'm just saying if its not in patch notes and comments about it are very very vague, it's going to be hella hard to convince bog to change it.

I cannot find any archived sites that list this as back slot, only secondary.
Pre-Velious item descriptions did not show the slots that were equipable.
It seems very unlikely with 28 AC.

Aegis of Life has 12AC though.
The only thing that comes close is Shield of the Immaculate and this item is very well documented being Back/Secondary useable.
Nirgon could have his friend look it up in the old database to see if it was ever changed.
I'm pretty sure in that comment the person was confused with Lodi shield.

The comment was posted post velious also /shrug

If you read his comment he says it was about a year ago, the comment was posted in 08/01...Velious came out in 12/00 i believe, that is only 8 months ago - this could potentially rule out people thinking he was talking about Lodi shield

All back items as of june 2000 (before where we are on timeline, pre-epic):

All shields as of june 2000:

Note that Aegis of life is explicitly noted as back wearable in the shield section, but not Atramentous.
Unless you got a CoF try getting a Ashenbone for Regular use and a Atrementous for your back ( It still fits on your back doesn't it? I remember about a year ago it did

This was never back useable.
In any case, youd need way more evidences than a "I think I was wearing this on my back a year ago" from 2001.

100% sure it wasn't a back item
