Iksar RP Guild is back, hoping to see more!

Just a head's up, though I know its limited, I have began recruiting for the Harbingers of Thule, All Iksar guild. Could be the first in a line of RP guilds. Ya never know, think about it...You have a light race kind of guild, maybe even a dark race one, then you have that guild from Kunark...the yucky lizards...
For those who want to make an Iksar and form the foundation, please let me know!

We plan to approach things differently this time around. We need to be tight knit and when people see a Harbinger, they know they can have a unique RP encounter. I would like to get with a foundation of u as to how we want to move forward with ideas to bring the fun back to the game. Its time to be different, roleplayin a roleplay game. Nothing hardcore, just have fun and give the people around u a good memory or two.

I think I remember a Harbingers of Thule on Brell back in the day. I suppose there could have been more than one though.

I may need to make myself an Iksar if other RP guilds don't start popping up. Something about this game just made RP more enjoyable than any game I have played since. I don't even bother with any of the modern MMO's.

My parents and a few of our friends use to have a guild on brell called "Gnomore Rogues". Partially named after a great gnome wizard on brell named Gnomore and because we were all gnome rogues with different variations of rogue names like Sneakynn, Hidyn, Pickyn etc.

To get over the raiding hurdle of no clerics, only necro rez you'd enforce a perma
iksar illusion. Of course this would require AA/expansion abilities.

I agree with this. It's very cool that you're doing your awesome Iksar RP thing, but to me I don't really understand how roleplaying could even work without PvP :/

Perhaps if the PvP wasnt so insanely slanted towards casters as three of the Iksar's main classes are melee. I was the leader of the same guild on Rallos Zek on live. Shit was cool as hell, but shit wasn't easy.

Monks and SKs are killer in PvP (and so are warriors, in a group), and I've found the red community very friendly and more than willing to hand out gear to new players in an effort to improve the population. If you remade your guild on red, I would make an iksar alt to play with you :)

I remember HoT from Rallos Zek. They were definitely RP, even to the extent that they killed other evil races at times. I would roll an iksar alt for this, but I think it would be more interesting if HoT didn't use common speech. This is the one thing on classic I didn't like: The fact that any race had the option to speak "common," rather than forcing different races to learn other races' languages to communicate efficiently (yes, even on raids before TS, Skype, or Ventrilo).

TL; DR: I think RP guilds would make things more interesting for a lot of people.

Yeah the lore of everquest kicked so much ass, there is a lot of stuff out there, aside from the generally already known stories from the game booklets and lore on the wiki. I remember reading more in depth of how Rallos zek punished his followers for failing him in his war against the gods of the planes. At the time of that war, ogres were as smart as humans pretty much, goblins were much more intelligent, same with the giants, the giants by the way were one of the first races created and they took the most lush and rich in resource type of lands for their home, and the orcs, I'm not sure how they were before zek's defeat, but yeah Rallos zek ammased a massive army of the four races he created and who worship him, giants, ogres, orcs and goblins and were defeated up in the planes, not sure about the specifics, but what I do remember reading about is how these races were cursed and punished by their god for failing. The ogres I'm sure everyone knows what happened with them, their curse was that, each generation of ogres would show signs of lower intelligence, generation after generation, until their intelligence is what it is today. The giants, having claimed the most lush and beautiful lands as their homelands, their curse was their lands turned to snow and ice, and lava and fire, and the giants changed with their land. (Ice and fire giants) nearly all of their great cities destroyed and brought to ruin (permafrost) In fact, the only race of giants to escape Rallos zek's punishment are the Kromif and Kromzek, the frost giants of velious, and their city is apprenty the only one left. The orcs before their punishment or their curse was basically reducing their minds to a desire and lust for nothing but conquest. And lastly it was written that it is believed that goblins got it the worst, they were basically the stealth fighters/casters of the rallosian army that attacked the plains, their curse basically reduced their minds and ways to pure barbarism, it was said that they actually had some what of a well documented written history, but now ther writings are nothing but scribbles and the history of the four goblin tribes since their curse has been lost to history. After their defeat and curse the roamed norrath searching for a home, one group settled in the frozen north because they liked the cold establishing their tribe and becoming ice goblins, one group settled in the lava storm region because they liked the warmth establishing their tribe, over time they became fire goblins, they traveled across the sea at one point where another group decided to stay behind, taking a liking to the water, this tribe over time became the aqua goblins, the last group set up a stronghold in an old cave, becoming the runnyeye clan, this last group of goblins was the largest and is where the runnyeye and pickclaw goblins are from. Man I gotta find that old text document, it had sooo much cool ass eq lore, like the founding of Ak'anon, the cave of Ak'anon was once the dwelling of a large black poison dragon, he was defeated by the wood elf warrior hero Edril, I think the name was, there are a few stories that settle around him, but him and some elven, dwarven and gnomish comrades help lure the dragon out of the cave and into steamfont to slay it. The dragon's bones are still there to this day. There was another cool ass story about the first Ogre and Dwarf war, because remember back in the day hen you made a dwarf and right when you are finished making your character, there would e a little info box like, if you were evil there would a line like, "if you travel it would be wise to do so under the cover of darkness at night" or something like that, I remember though if you made a dwarf it like the last line would say "and always be aware of your enemy, the Ogres of Oggok!" Or something like that, and same if you were an ogre. But that story of the first ogre and dwarf war explains that ogres were originally from faydwer, but were defeated by the dwarves, the ogres escaped to Antonia to the mountain jungles of the feerrott and created a new ogre city, Oggok, which in ogre means "revenge." Man, there were a lot of cool stories, they were all classic to velious era.

Wow, I didnt expect to see a resurgence of interest in the all Iksar guild. The name was just on my alts. Im not sure the guild is what people are expecting these days. Every time we grew in number, the better players would leave for the raiding guilds. The revolving door got old and we somewhat closed shop.
Perhaps the dynamics have changed and people have played the end game enough that they are willing to do something different with an alt now? Who knows? Being a part of the original Harbingers of Thule on Rallos Zek and the first months of the Kunark launch here, were easily the best times I've had on EQ.

I have the worst case of altaholicism but I think I'd be down to make an Iskar if I had people around my level to play with. I found the Iskar starting areas to be pretty harsh, but you don't get to play the coolest race without some tradeoffs.

I had my first encounter with an iksar bearing the Harbingers tag. He was in group bragging about the thousands of kpp worth of phat lewtz he had gotten the night before while sitting on his ass and not contributing. The only time he got up was to rush over and loot a piece of FS that dropped. When we called him out on it he /q'd. The next day he ninja invited me to a group and when I declined he KSed my pull.

Players like that make for a bad first impression of a guild. If you want to know the name so you can cull the shitty player from your ranks, PM me.

I know the "boohoo he ks'd me" flames are forthcoming, but I thought you might want to know about the guy who is racing to tarnish your guild.
