Hey guys, I need help getting my character started up. What should I focus on in regards to stat points for a Wood elf Druid?
Thanks

It's pretty easy to max your wisdom even with non-raid gear. I'd recommend dumping your points into either stamina or charisma, depending on your play style--stamina is arguably better for raiders, charisma better for charmers. In retrospect, I wish I'd gone 25 points into charisma and 5 into stamina.

Not possible pre-Kunark. Base wisdom for wood elf druid is 90. Not enough wisdom on pre-raid items in-game to equal 110 which is what you'd need if you put no points in wisdom to equal 200 with gear.
Min/maxing aside, you might find yourself quite disappointed with druid charm even with a high charisma.

Druid list is pretty much identical to cleric, which means it is totally feasible to get 110 from pre-raid items.
Edit: Not saying it is easy, but it is doable.

Jasper Gold Earrings are 3, not 2.
Offhand could be a PKT in theory.
That being said I would still probably stick in 10 to wis to make it an easier go of it and avoid the totem.

Earrings are three wisdom, BAM doesn't exist and Pearl Kedge Totem.

I overlooked PKT. That will indeed do it.
I still say wisdom/sta is a much better investment than charisma. And amassing tht gear is far from easy.

If black alloy isn't in, not sure if there's anything better than Chrysoberyl for druids WIS wise?

Not that I know of. Maybe a no drop in Kedge, maybe not. I'd say Warden Symbol, but that's "not classic".

Warden Symbol is classic. The quest is just bugged.

I usually dump it into Wis and put the rest into Str. Str = carry more of the loot you get with high Wis :)
Wis and Str items are usually harder to find, anyway. Seems like it at least.
Still hell up to 14 spell set of course, until you get a good dot for root.

You're joking, right? Druids wear leather. Have you ever heard of weight reduction bags?

At newbie levels? No. You goin' ta give me some? :D ;)
5 point's later on, who cares? Great for starting stat for the extra few carry and melee dmg points (forced melee to an ELF). OP wanted to know how to roll, not mid to max. And if you don't max Wis, may as well roll a human and play in Surefall, make a pet oriented Drui. Max Wis as in roll points, I don't think the original poster has twink equipment as join date seems to indicate new on this server. *shrugs* this is how we roll... :D (on 4th Drui in EQ career)
25 points into charisma would probably result in a lot corps runs for an ELF Drui, maybe twice as long to lvl 14 where ELF Drui starts to shine. Great class for getting past mid-level hell-grind syndrome, just starting is rough. Just make sure to get it down knowing when to dump your self-heals during early battles. Lead with your first dot too, takes down AC as well.
btw I'll take a good-ok 2H staff too hehe ;)

It's important to note that short of 200 wis and a manastone druids cannot quad specs at 34. 200 wis and 39 sans manastone or 40+ with less than 200 wis.
Edit: and even at 34 with 200 wis and MS it's dicey due to resists. But doable.
Double edit: 110 wis makes this much easier. You can do it without the expensive GEBs and Mithril Tunic. This makes the Paw the only item you'll shell out more than 500-600 for. There are also viable +mana or +hp items (for ears, especially) that can replace crummy wis items later on and make up the missing stamina easily.

Honestly, I put 20 into wis and 10 into STR on my Woodie druid but that was because it was an alt I made to play on the side while my GF was away and my main is a constantly encumbered wood elf warrior. Just didn't want to deal with encumberence for a change....Also made a female character, also for a change. Also didn't realize I would get into the class as much as I have and actually play her like I have, either. LOL
All of that said, to answer the OPs question, you can't go wrong with putting max points into WIS and rest into STA, but you won't gimp your character regardless of where you put your points, you just might waste the points, is all.
CHA gear is very easy to come by once you have some disposable income, and that's only a concern if you care to use charm. Personally, I'm a big proponent of maxxing your main stat ASAP so you can then experiment with alternate gear on some slots bringing up your weak areas once you start going over cap....Like resists or AC and STA, or even just going for +mana items for some slots.
