One step from having this thing up and running. Had issues with the eqhost and administrator issues, but overcame that with some help. Last thing to change is the target line in the properties page of eq. I've done this on three other machines, all have worked with no problems. This is the first time putting it on windows 7 and it's giving me trouble. When I input the new line "\eqgames.exe" patchme,... I get "problem with shortcut" statement. It goes on to say that "the file specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."

Any ideas?? So close but oh so far it seems. I've installed on XP, and 2 on vista without much trouble at all. Windows 7 is stopping me cold. I could really use any advice you can give. THanks!

Whats the "target" pointing to right now?

Go to your eqgame located in the (x86) (assuming your running 64 bit)and create a short cut.Paste that to your desktop and copy the "target" in a reply.

The path to eqgame.exe should be in QUOTATION MARKS if there is a space anywhere in the directories.

For example, if you've installed it to:
C:\Program Files\EverQuest

You'll note that there's a space in Program Files, so your shortcut's target path should be:
"C:\Program Files\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

If, however, there are no spaces in the path, then quotes are not required.

Got it guys, I recreated a new shortcut icon, cleared the target path, and cut and pasted the path from the setup screen and presto, all is good in life. I hate to think I had missed one silly letter, but I can't think of anything else. It works, I jut logged in, my kids will give me some peace now, many thanks for the help!!!
